His hands on approach to patient care, coupled with his extensive research,  published work and his commitment to teaching means he continues to further the boundaries of orthopaedic surgery

About Me 

World renowned 

Professor Rickman is a member of the Wakefield Orthopaedic Clinic and is a highly experienced orthopaedic and trauma surgeon as well as being one of the worlds leading pelvic surgeons.  He is Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and regularly teaches on orthopaedic courses around the world.   He has operating rights at Calvary Adelaide Hospital, Calvary North Adelaide, Western and Mildura private hospitals. He has consulting locations at Calvary Adelaide Hospital, Calvary Central Districts, Western Hospital, Kings Park Medical Clinic and Mildura Private Hospital.  All hip scopes are carried out at the Calvary Adelaide Hospital.

Extensive experience

Professor Rickman completed his Fellowship in Adelaide in 2005 and then worked in London at St Georges Hospital - one of London's four Major Trauma Centres, where he was Head of Department.   He also spent 10 years developing his London private practice, including at the prestigious King Edward VII Hospital in London, where he was  the surgeon of choice for a number of the worlds Royal families and worked with two English Premier League football teams. In Adelaide he has treated players from the Adelaide Crows and Adelaide United Soccer Club.  

He is very active in researching new surgical techniques and implants.
