What is a hip arthroscopy ?

A hip arthroscopy is a surgical procedure where a small camera ( an arthroscope) is inserted into the hip joint without making a large incision.

 Professor Mark Rickman is a leading expert in the management of injuries to the hip and pelvis.  The ability to perform hip arthrosocpies is a significant benefit in Marks clinical practice. 

Mark has been performing hip arthroscopy for more than 15 years and has undertaken around 700 cases to date. He has undertaken training in the procedure in London, Paris and Melbourne.  His clinical practice is now based in Adelaide.  Prior to moving to Australia, Mark was part of the team working with Smith & Nephew, helping to  train surgeons in hip arthroscopy techniques.
